Famous Airbrush Painters

There are many types of art in this world, and this is an invitation to take a step into a world of art that often is overlooked from a technical standpoint. When most people think of airbrush art, they think of individuals airbrushing t-shirts at carnivals and theme parks. As with any other form of art, there are the amateurs, and then there are the professionals.
Gerald Mendez
While born an artist, Gerald Mendez says he learned his art form through accomplished practice throughout the years. In his family, there are three generation of artists. Born in Mexico, he now resides in Chino, California, where he owns GM Art and Design Center. Gerald does illustrations, t-shirt designs, murals and more for business and personal use. He even custom paints Harley's for his partner's shop. Gerald Mendez is considered one of the greatest airbrush artists ever known.
Peter Ledger
Born in Australia, Peter Ledger was known for his intricate airbrush art and illustrations. While he met an untimely death, during his life he managed to complete numerous pieces of art and earn many awards. Peter did album covers, posters, comic books and much more. He often worked in the film and television industry, and later in life, he focused mainly on murals in both private residences and public buildings.
Airbrushing is a modern form of art, but it dates back later than most people think. Alberto Vargas is another famous airbrush artist. A Peruvian artist, Alberto was known for his art of pin-up girls, and he worked for the magazine Esquire for quite some time. One place to find airbrush art is on t-shirts, even from the most famous of these artists. However, airbrush art is everywhere, intricately detailed and powerfully displayed for anyone who keeps their eyes open.
